Bavarian Girl Immigrates to America (1955)
To celebrate my recent discovery of my mother and Oma's immigration record on familysearch.org and ancestry.com, I made a tribute page to my mother and her German side of the family. I found this adorable kit titled Bavarian Adventure along with a photograph of the navy ship on which my mother and her mother traveled in 1955.
These pages include photographs of Maria "Carmen" (Brooks) Rankin, Maria "Irma"garde (Sell), Irma's parents, Cacelia (Lossa) and Philipp Sell along with Carmen's cousins Reno and Werner De Decaro. The latter is a famous still life artist who resides in Augsburg, Germany.
