Enteritis Infection Claimed Life of 3.5 Year Old Little Coot Rankin

Featuring more papers and elements from Just So Scrappy's Shabtastic Collection, and a Teddy Bear from Deviant Art's cendredelune  are the biography pages of my great Uncle Charles Edward "Little Coot" Rankin. Suffering from an enteritis infection, Charles died an early death at 3.5 years of age. The featured newspaper article which mentions keeping baby's safe from ailments like enteritis during the summer months was published in The Coshocton Tribune of Coshocton, Ohio on June 14th, 1923, a few months before Little Coot died.

Babe Rankin died young...

Using papers and elements from the Just So Scrappy Kit Shabtastic I have created the biography pages of Jessie Florence "Babe" Rankin to be included in the Rankin Family Genealogy and Heirloom book.

Babe died young at 28 years of age, succumbing to injuries from a horrific car accident that took place in Houston, Texas. Family legend has it that her brother Bill was behind the wheel and brother Mart and sister-in-law Jeannie (Moore) Rankin were also with them. Babe alone perished.

The High Family Connection

As part of the Rankin Family Genealogy and Heirloom Book I am including the High Family Connection. Two of my paternal grandfather's siblings, Hurless Everett "Bill" and Margaret Margene "Jean" Rankin married into the High family; brother and sister Lee Carlton High and Frances Adell High.

Thanks to my father's cousin Lynda (High) Emsick, I have a little collection of Rankin-High family photos which make for an interesting collage behind the High family tree.

I have combined papers and elements from three previously featured digital scrapbooking kits in this layout including, Ooh La La Scrap's Afternoon Stroll, Veronica Sprigg's A Gentleman's Journey and the Family Ties Collection by Ginny Whitcomb.
