The following newspaper articles from August of 1920 in Maysville, Kentucky and West Union, Ohio tell the story of when my paternal great grandmother, Glada Blanche (Newman) Rankin shot and killed her father, Lafayette "Lafe" Newman in self-defense...

Notice The Public Ledger (Maysville, Ky) articles tried to protect Blanche's identity while The People's Defender (West Union, Oh) article gave the full story, including Blanche's true identity.
